Dan Mullen addresses his candidacy for open head coaching jobs (Syracuse)

With head coaching jobs at Mississippi State and Syracuse both coming open in the last few weeks, Dan Mullen's name has been one that has been brought up in those coaching searches, as well as a few others.

Mullen is no longer in the mix at Syracuse as we shared earlier they are expected to reach a deal with Georgia's Fran Brown later today, and Mississippi State filled their opening with Oklahoma offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby.

Still, the former Florida and Mississippi State head coach's name has been floated for Indiana's opening by many, so yesterday during a conversation with Dan Dakich, Mullen addressed his candidacy for the opening Bloomington, and for other college opportunities.

"You know, it's a great compliment," Mullen shared, on his name being mentioned for jobs.

"I mean you have the Indiana shirt behind you, like that is supposed to be the next stop I'm going to. But I'm not going to Indiana, I'll just share that with you right now."

The comment got Dakich riled up, as Indiana athletic director Scott Dolson is a former Hoosier basketball manager from Dakich's playing days in the early-to-mid 80s, and the two have remained close.

"I was going to put these hats out, like the kids do, of all these jobs that are open, and then rip out my ESPN one. I'm committing back to ESPN. I'm going to play next year at ESPN," he shared.
