The scene at Colorado with College GameDay in town last weekend looked like a Hollywood set with celebs from The Rock to Lil' Wayne in attendance to witness what has can only be described as the national phenomenon we now affectionately call simply "The Prime Effect."
Among the big celebrities in attendance was NFL Hall of Fame defensive lineman Warren Sapp, who has also been a high profile guest at practices sharing his wisdom and insight earlier this season.
On the Rich Eisen show, Prime was asked if he thinks he and Sapp, a 2013 inductee into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, will coach together,
"I do. I really do, and I want him to be. But it's different Rich, because guys like that, the only reason they don't go into coaching is because of the time allocated. I don't need all of that. I know him. I know what I need."
"You don't need to come and sit around here all day. Come in the morning, we practice at 9, get those kids ready in the morning meetings, work your butt off on the field, after, watch film with them, and then go home and you're home by noon."
"I don't need you here all day. I'm not that type of coach. It don't take all of that," Prime shared.
Both Sapp and Prime haven't been shy about sharing their mutual respect for one another, as well as their desire to to link up together in Boulder.
It's something that Sapp says he shared with those close to him before the TCU game.
Following up Prime's appearance on the show, Sapp reinforced that he's focused on getting his degree, and "getting his paperwork done" but after those boxes are checked, he's asking Prime for a spot on staff.
"I've always said, I would love to [coach], but I need a head coach who understands that after 9 o'clock and [MSNBC's] Rachel Maddow...I'm going to bed."
"I want to be there next year," Sapp goes on to share with Eisen in the clip.
"I know something about this game, and when you have a quarterback like Shadeur, and if my D-Line will go hunt the other quarterback, our chances of winning just went through the roof."
