Deion Sanders calls out former President Obama over Arizona-Colorado comments (Obama)

Deion Sanders saw his Colorado team surpass its 2023 season win-total with a dominant performance Saturday at Arizona, and in the process the Buffaloes remained within striking distance at the top of the Big 12 Conference standings.

Coach Prime HEARD what former United States President Barack Obama had to say Friday evening when Obama headlined a political rally in Arizona.

As always, Sanders kept receipts. Even on the former POTUS.

"President Obama is everything to me. I loved him, I admired him, I respect him tremendously. But, I heard what he said," Sanders said.

"President, I heard what you said, man. Come on, come on. That's why I really don't get into politics; I'm into people. Because politicians, they play the political game and he was here and had to play the political game."

Coach Prime specifically took issue with what he felt was Obama's dismissal of the overall quality of the Colorado team.

"'They have two good players,'" Sanders said in reciting what Obama had told a crowd. "We got more than two good players. But you're here, and you have to support that.

"What'd he say, they'd won the last three meetings between the two teams? He did his homework, somebody gave him some great statistics.

"Mr. President, come on man! You're my man, I love you and I appreciate it. But come on, dog!"

The instant that Obama brought up the Buffaloes in his Friday speech, the crowd groaned. He leaned into his crowd work.

"As we landed, we saw Colorado's buses at the airport," said Obama, boos raining from the crowd at the bus comment. "And I know, Colorado's got a couple of good players, but I also know you guys have beaten them twice in a row.

"So, don't bet against the Wildcats tomorrow."

After his team's 34-7 win, Sanders praised the Buffaloes for their work away from home.

"Sometimes we liked to be booed and naysayed and all that and we get that on the road," Deion Sanders said. "I think we're attracted to that somewhat. ...

"This was a tremendous opportunity to start this run that we want to go on. I'm proud of the young men, proud of the staff, proud of the support staff."
