Deion Sanders' Colorado players, staff fire back about "mandatory" Lil Wayne concert (Lil Wayne)

Deion Sanders Jr. asks the question rather casually.

"You got a hard job," Sanders Jr. says to Colorado strength guru Maurice Sims, before adding the key element. "How many people you had to punish for not going to the concert?"

"Bro, what is up with that," Sims asked. "People are making up weird stuff."

In an exclusive-content YouTube video produced by Sanders Jr.'s Well Off Media company, dubbed "Another Day, Another Lie Told About the CU Buffs," Colorado personnel tackle the allegations that several Buffaloes players had departed the program earlier this year because head coach Deion Sanders, aka Coach Prime, had commanded all players to attend a joint concert that saw Shedeur Sanders open for world-famous hip-hop icon Lil Wayne.

"How many people you had to run for not going to the concert," Sanders Jr. again asked Sims.

"It was not mandatory to go to the concert," Sims said. "Guys just wanted to be good teammates.

"Did they even know that he was performing? I didn't know."

Inside Colorado's locker room, Sanders Jr. approaches a variety of Buffaloes players to ask them about going to the concert in question or if they were forced to attend the event, which was sponsored by Outback Steakhouse and billed in advance as an NIL fundraising event for the football program.

"I seen that," wideout Omarion Miller said on video. "They crazy for that. He ain't force us to go to that."

LaJohntay Wester also said on the video that he neither attended the concert nor had been told he was required to go the concert held in Boulder, Colorado, in April.

"Hey. Bro, that's crazy because we didn't even know we was going to perform," Shilo Sanders said. "How'd we decide in five minutes but Dad already predetermined it?

"Dad didn't even know we were going to perform. But I wouldn't even say nothing about it, Bro. They didn't even know we were going to perform. They messed up the lights. They couldn't even see who was on stage! ...

"I don't even respond no more!"
