Deion Sanders expresses "very strong interest" in Las Vegas Raiders job, per report (Deion Sanders Las Vegas Raiders)

Deion Sanders has expressed "very strong interest" in the vacant Las Vegas Raiders head coaching job, according to a report Saturday from the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

"NFL-connected associates" of Sanders have reached out to the Silver and Black, but it's unknown at this time if the Raiders have returned that interest. So far, the Raiders have lined up interviews with the typical list of candidates: Lions coordinators Aaron Glenn and Ben Johnson, Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, former Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, and former Jets head coach Robert Saleh.

However, minority owner Tom Brady is spearheading the search, and Brady has a relationship with top quarterback prospect Shedeur Sanders through an NIL deal the quarterback signed with TB12 in 2022.

The Raiders have the sixth pick in this spring's draft.

This week, Sanders told Good Morning America that he would consider coaching in the NFL under one condition: “The only way I would consider (it) is to coach my sons.”

That's a stark departure from stances Coach Prime has taken in the past.

"I don't have any desire to coach in the NFL," Sanders said in 2023.

"My sons, Travis included, are getting ready to migrate to the NFL," he added before this past season. "I'm not following them to the NFL. So, I plan on being here and being dominant, here."

Sanders was also emotional before last month's Alamo Bowl, in what many assumed would be his final game coaching Shedeur and Shilo.

Now, it seems Coach Prime may want to keep the journey going to football's highest level.
