Deion Sanders Jr., Colorado players discuss Coach Prime's recovery from surgery (TCU)

The University of Colorado football team is continuing its summer conditioning and workouts program -- without head coach Deion Sanders.

The first-year Buffaloes head coach and Pro Football Hall of Famer is continuing to recuperate after a recent surgery to rectify in issue in the groin-area of Coach Prime.

During Buffaloes workouts, Deion Sanders Jr. -- who spearheads the football program's social media and video content -- provided an update on his father and also queried Colorado players for their thoughts on what Deion Sanders is doing while away from the team.

"My dad's just chilling," Sanders Jr. said on video. "He's doing all right."

Said Colorado Director of Football Sports Performance Maurice Sims, "I know he's not resting. He's doing something to get better. Even though he's not here, he's pushing me to get better."

Players' guesses as to what Coach Prime was doing to occupy his time while recovering from surgery ran the gamut.

"He's probably reading the bible," one player said.

Multiple players and Colorado staffers guessed that Sanders was "watching TUBI."

Yet another player said, "He's thinking about what we got going on right now, missing the guys; he don't like being in the bed. He likes to be out here working.

"I know he just wants us to be great."

Colorado, which has had more roster turnover than any other Power 5 program in college football, opens the Deion Sanders 'Coach Prime' era Sept. 2 at TCU. The Buffaloes then make their home debut at Folsom Field Sept. 9 against former longtime rival Nebraska and the Cornhuskers' new coach, Matt Rhule.
