Deion Sanders says he's had to call head coaches who have been caught on recordings "downing" him and Colorado (recruiting)

After a 4-8 season and rebuilding his staff after losing both coordinators and some other key assistants, Deion Sanders has been busy retooling his staff.

...but not too busy to continue to call out the doubters.

In an era where negative recruiting by other programs seems to be all too common, Prime told Robert Griffin III on his podcast recently that he's had to reach out directly to fellow head coaches who have been caught by recruits recording them talking bad about Sanders and Colorado.

"I don't allow our coaching staff to ever comment on another school. You don't have to put another school down to put us up. I don't play that."

"Our staff knows, the way you get fired is to let me hear you talk about another institution with a kid."

Now...kids have recorded conversations with head coaches - not just assistants - head coaches, downing us and selling us out and just talking about us like a dog."

"I just politely call the head coach and say 'Look here man, I don't really know you, I wish the best for you, but be careful, because when these kids bring phones into your meetings, you are exposed to certain things. I'm not going to put you out there, but just keep my name out of your mouth.'"

"I've had to have that conversation."

Whether kids are actually rolling into the head coach's office during visits recording everything being said, or it's happening on phone calls or it's another motivational tactic by Prime we've seen time and time again is up for you to decide.
