Details of Mike Elko's contract at Texas A&M (Mike Elko Contract)

Texas A&M and Mike Elko have agreed on a 6-year contract at $7 million per year, according to terms released Monday.

Bonuses range from $50,000 for an SEC coach of the year award to $3.5 million for winning a national championship.

Elko's coach-end buyout starts at $6.5 million should he leave for another job within the first year of his deal and declining thereafter.

Texas A&M did not fully guarantee Elko's deal, as they did with Jimbo Fisher's initial contract as well as his extension, but they came close. If fired without cause with more than three years remaining on his contract, Texas A&M would owe 75 percent of the remaining contract, and 80 percent of the remainder if less than three years remain.

(And for those doing the math at home: Texas A&M will pay Fisher slightly more money, and for longer, to coach the Aggies than they'll pay Elko to coach them.)

Elko's staff pool is $11 million.
