Detroit Lions sign head coach Dan Campbell, GM Brad Holmes to contract extensions (chris spielman)

The Detroit Lions on Thursday announced head coach Dan Campbell, executive vice president/general manager Brad Holmes, and special assistant to the president/CEO Chris Spielman to contract extensions.

Financial terms were not disclosed. Campbell and Holmes signed multi-year extensions that will keep them under contract through 2027.

Hired in 2021, Campbell and Holmes have overseen the most successful period of Lions football in decades.

The 2023 campaign saw Detroit win its first division championship since 1993 and reach the NFC Championship for the first time since 1991.

At 2-1, Campbell is tied for second in franchise history in playoff wins. One more victory ties him with Wayne Parker, who left the team in 1956, for the most playoff wins in Lions history.

"We are thrilled to have Brad and Dan under contract for the next four seasons," said Detroit Lions Principal Owner and Chair Sheila Hamp. "They have been the driving force behind the rebuild of our football team and the success that we have enjoyed. The continuity they provide for our football program will continue to be the key to our future success on the field."

"I could not be more proud of the work that Brad, Dan and Chris have done for our organization," said President and CEO Rod Wood. "They have selflessly worked together to build a winning culture within the Lions. I am excited to continue working with them to create the sustained success that we envision for the team, our fans, and the city of Detroit."
