Edinboro adds former pro player, FCS coach to staff (Green Bay)

Diamond Weaver, a former standout-player at Akron who also played football professionally, has landed a new coaching gig.

Weaver is being added to the defensive staff at NCAA Division II program Edinboro University and coach Jake Nulph.

Weaver is going to be the defensive backs coach for the Scots, overseeing the entire back-end for the Edinboro defense.

Versed in coaching on both sides of the ball, having worked at FCS program Rhode Island for three years -- the first two as running backs coach, the final season as cornerbacks coach.

Weaver also worked at Maine, coaching cornerbacks, and coached professionally for the Green Bay Blizzard.

Since those stops, Weaver had worked at FBS program Stony Brook for an extended stretch, serving as the Seawolves' cornerbacks coach.
