Just days after seeing all team activities halted by coach Willie Simmons, the Florida A&M football program is on track to resume its summer work Tuesday.
Rattlers Vice President and Athletics Director Tiffani-Dawn Sykes made the announcement Monday afternoon on her official Twitter account.
The statement read, in part:
"The FAMU Football team has been cleared to return to all football-related activity, effective Tuesday, July 25, 2023," she wrote. "An investigation into the unauthorized video that was partially filmed in the football locker room is being led by the University's Office of Compliance and Ethics.
"Since this is an ongoing investigation, no further comment can be shared at this time."
Simmons had announced Saturday that he was halting all football-related activities because of what the school termed was a rap video "not consistent with Florida A&M's core values" was partially filmed in the Rattlers' locker room and also featured FAMU gear in the video.

The Rattlers have been rejuvenated under Simmons, who last year led the team to a 9-win season despite an academic controversy that threatened to derail the season before it ever kicked off.
FAMU is scheduled to open its 2023 season Sunday, Sept. 3, against Jackson State at the Orange Blossom Classic in Florida.
