Fans will not be allowed to attend the Rose Bowl
Today the Pasadena Tournament of Roses released an official statement saying that there will be no spectators in attendance for the Rose Bowl on New Years Day.
This is because of the COVID 19 restrictions not only from the state of California but Los Angeles county and the city of Pasadena as well. The county recently entered another lockdown that is due to expire mid-December but the limitations for spectators at athletic events will remain intact.
The Fiesta Bowl has also announced that there will be no spectators allowed, with the exception of players families who will be allowed to attend. The Rose Bowl has not made that same exception. At this time families of players will not be permitted in the stadium. The special request for that exception by the Tournament of Roses has reportedly been denied.
The Rose Parade has also been canceled. The only other time in the Tournament of Roses history that the parade was canceled was during World War II.
