FCS program undergoes coordinator change (FCS)

Back in February Northern Iowa (FCS) announced the hire of Luke Falk, the former Washington State quarterback who spent a season coaching the quarterbacks at Wingate (D-II - NC), as their new offensive coordinator.

However, Falk is no longer with the program.

Cole Blair reported this morning and FootballScoop can confirm that Falk's departure is due to "a family health matter and that he left the program on good terms."

Joel Filani, who also played under Mike Leach before going on to become the pass game coordinator at Northern Arizona, has recently been added to the staff in an undefined capacity, the report shares.

The Panthers were a perennial playoff team primed to make deep runs under longtime head coach Mark Farley prior to the 2020 COVID season, but have not topped the 6-win mark since 2019.

Farley enters his 24th season leading the program, and is already the Panthers all-time leader in wins and is also the winningest coach in the history of the Missouri Valley conference with 180 wins.

As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
