FIU set to dismiss Mike MacIntyre (Mike MacIntyre)

Mike MacIntyre previously rebuilt San Jose State and Colorado into double-digit win programs, but that same success has not translated at FIU.

247 is sharing that FIU is set to dismiss MacIntyre after his third season at the helm.

Each of those three seasons has ended in identical 4-8 records and 9th place finishes in Conference USA.

He went 12-24 leading the Panthers, and 6-18 in C-USA play.

After going 1-12 in his first season at San Jose State, he went 5-7 in year two before an impressive jump to 10-2 in his third season.

That success parlayed into the opportunity at Colorado, where it was a bit of a slower build, but a jump from 4-9 in year three to a 10-4 finish in 2016 ended in a top 20 ranking for the Buffs.

That year, coach MacIntyre brought home a number of Coach of the Year awards, including Pac-12 Coach of the Year, AP Coach of the Year, and Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year, in addition to a host of others.

At those three head coaching stops, MacIntyre was a combined 58-89.

After being let go at Colorado, MacIntyre spent time as the defensive coordinator at Ole Miss and Memphis and has prior defensive play calling experience at Duke, Temple, and UT-Martin (FCS) as well as some time coaching defensive backs in the NFL (Jets and Cowboys).
