FIU sells football stadium naming rights to Pitbull (Pitbull)

International recording artist Armando Christian Perez -- I call him Armando, you may know him as Pitbull -- has entered into a unique booster arrangement with FIU's football program.

Specifically, he bought the naming rights to the football stadium.

At a cost of $6 million, for the next five years FIU Football Stadium has been renamed Pitbull Stadium, the school announced Tuesday. Particulars of the arrangement are listed below.

In addition to the money, Pitbull has purchased the right to be the "Official Entrepreneur" of FIU athletics, and his Voli 305 Vodka will be the preferred vodka of choice on the premises. In return, Pitbull will create an "FIU Anthem" and create a whole 12 social media post per year about the Golden Panthers.

The 23,500-seat facility opened in 1995, and has seen few successful Panthers teams since. FIU has enjoyed four winning campaigns since joining college football's top division in 2002, most recently in 2018.
