Florida will pay Dan Mullen's senior on-the-field staff nearly $700,000 more in 2020 than it did in 2019.
The raises, agreed to on Feb. 1, were first reported Tuesday by the Orlando Sentinel. Nine of Mullen's 11 on-the-field assistants booked raises, excluding defensive coordinator Todd Grantham (his highest-paid assistant) and safeties coach Ron English.
The biggest raise went to linebackers coach Christian Robinson, who saw his $115,000 salary explode to $290,000 -- a raise of more than 200 percent.
Offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Brian Johnson and defensive line coach David Turner also netted six-figure raises.
The biggest winner, though, was head strength coach Nick Savage. In addition to a $150,000 raise, he also received a $75,000 bonus upon signing a contract that keeps him tied to Florida through Jan. 31, 2023, the paper reports.
Mullen's contract was not changed. He signed a 6-year deal worth $36.6 million upon taking the job after the 2017 season. His two seasons have seen the Gators rack up a 21-5 record, including an 11-2 mark with a No. 6 AP poll ranking in 2019.
Florida will enter 2020 with SEC championship and College Football Playoff expectations.
