This week, a bill was presented to the Florida House to formally recognize UCF's undefeated season as national champions in the form of special license plates.
According to Joe Reedy, the House voted on the bill, and not only did it pass...it passed unanimously.
The plate, courtesy of AL.com, was originally planned to look like this: A few hours later, Reedy provided an update, and the latest version replaces "National Champions" with "Undefeated Champions".
UCF has already raised a national championship banner at the practice field, and Florida's governor publicly proclaimed the Knights the National Champions in Florida, so the National Championship plate would have surely continued to create some buzz and keep people talking. So while they may have changed the national champs line on the plate, it's still a really cool deal to see.
