At the early part of the last decade, this was always the biggest weekend of the season ahead of rivalry Saturday. Florida State-Miami would play at noon, and Texas-Oklahoma would follow at 3:30, and the national championship race would from there.
Those games will each occupy nationally televised spots this week, but their importance has been overshadowed by a less historic meeting of Texas A&M and a different UT.
