Former Michigan offensive lineman drops some negative recruiting ammo... on Michigan (Trevor Keegan)

The line on the environment inside Michigan Stadium is that the Big House can somehow make 110,000 sound like 60,000, but it turns out that may have been too generous.

Buried deep in a training camp practice report on PhiladelphiaEagles.com, former Wolverines offensive lineman-turned-Eagles rookie Trevor Keegan dropped a devastating bit of brutal honesty on his own alma mater when he said an Eagles practice was louder than any Michigan home game.

From the site:

"I think I told Fred (Johnson) in the locker room that we play a game in five days. That's pretty cool. I'm excited. I even got a little emotional getting over to the stadium (on Thursday for the Public Practice). I don't know how many people were there, but it was louder than Michigan's stadium. Definitely. It was rockin'. I got goosebumps."

Asked to confirm -- or, perhaps, given an opportunity to recognize the level of shade he was offering his school's enemies and correct it (No, wait, I mean Michigan State!), Keegan doubled down.

Wait, the nearly 50,000 at Lincoln Financial Field? Indeed, Keegan said. Incredible.

In addition to Keegan serving up a punchy bit of friendly fire, it's also obviously untrue. I wasn't on hand among the raucous 50,000 at Lincoln Financial Field over the weekend, but there's no way they got louder than the Big House was in the moment Rod Moore intercepted Kyle McCord to seal the 30-24 win over Ohio State this past November.

Look, is this the biggest thing in the world? No. Clearly, Michigan has bigger problems on its hands at the moment. But will this find its way into Ohio State, Penn State, et. al., recruiting propaganda and into message board flame wars? Absolutely.

As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
