Former Notre Dame star lands Ivy League job (Brown University)

At Notre Dame, Tom Zbikowski filled a number of roles for the Fighting Irish during an All-America career that propelled him into the NFL.

Now, after years coaching at the prep level in his native Illinois and logging time most recently at Western Michigan as a quality control coach, Zbikowski has landed a job as the safeties coach at Ivy League program Brown University under coach James Perry.

The program also promoted Matt O'Donnell to the role of recruiting coordinator.

Zbikowski -- a rugged athlete who's also previously trained as an emergency responded and had a promising boxing career -- had worked quality control at Western Michigan on both defense and special teams. He starred in both of those facets of the game while at Notre Dame.

Brown doesn't open its 2023 season until Sept. 16, when it travels within Rhode Island to face Bryant University. After a game at Harvard the following week, Brown makes its home debut Sept. 30 against Central Connecticut State.

The Bears are seeking to rebound after an 3-7 2022 campaign.
