Once again, Georgia found itself in a much closer-than-expected tussle with a Southeastern Conference foe.
After waddling past Kentucky, 13-12, last month in Lexington, Kentucky, the Bulldogs could not entirely put away a rebuilding Mississippi State program under first-year coach Jeff Lebby that last month lost at home by 24 points to MAC program Toledo.
Worse, still: Video from Saturday night's action between the hedges shows Georgia coach Kirby Smart aggressively shove a Mississippi State player on the sideline.
While appearing to be en route to yell at either an official or one of his assistant coaches, Smart shoved Bulldogs quarterback Michael Van Buren Jr., who to his credit did not react in any sort of retaliatory manner.

Following the game, Smart both said he doesn't remember the play but also remembers that he was trying to get the attention of his defensive coordinator, Glenn Schumann.
"I think the play I was going after Schu (Schumann); I was trying to get Schumann's attention," Smart said. "We were trying to change personnel; trying to get Schu's attention.
"But no, don't remember it."
There you have it: A clear-as-mud explanation from Smart as to a moment of which he has no recall and yet also says he intended to have his star defensive coordinator change Georgia's personnel.
The top-five Bulldogs travel to No. 1 Texas this week in a primetime showdown replete with both SEC Championship and College Football Playoff implications.
