Georgia makes Glenn Schumann one of college football's highest paid assistant coaches; 2023 staff pay revealed (glenn schumann)

Georgia will make Glenn Schumann one of the highest-paid coordinators in college football in 2023.

According to documents released by the university on Friday, Georgia will more than double Schumann's salary, taking him up to $1.9 million per year.

In 2022, Schumann netted a 3-year contract extension with a $200,000 raise upon his promotion to lead defensive coordinator, following Dan Lanning's departure to Oregon. He earned $805,000 in 2022 and was set to make $855,000 in 2023 and $905,000 in 2024. Co-coordinator Will Muschamp also earned $805,000 in 2022; no word on a raise for him was released Friday.

Schumann came to Athens with Kirby Smart in 2016. He spent three seasons as inside linebackers coach, then was promoted to co-defensive coordinator in 2019. Schumann had been at Alabama since 2008, starting as an undergraduate assistant.

Additionally, The Athletic reported new offensive coordinator Mike Bobo will earn $1 million in 2023. In 2021, Bobo signed a 3-year contract to be Auburn's offensive coordinator that paid him $1.3 million per year.

He replaces Todd Monken, who earned $2.005 million in 2022.

The upcoming season will mark Bobo's second stint as Georgia's offensive coordinator. The former Bulldog quarterback served in the position from 2007-14 (after spending 2001-06 as Georgia's quarterbacks coach) and has also coordinated the offense for South Carolina in addition to Auburn.

All but two Georgia coaches will earn more in 2023 than they did in '23. Information courtesy of the Athens Banner-Herald
