Georgia reportedly filling defensive opening with a coach from USC

Donte Williams announced tonight on social media that he was leaving the Trojans staff.

He's reportedly set to join Kirby Smart's staff at Georgia coaching the defensive backs, per Matt Zenitz.

FootballScoop can confirm the news.

Williams spent the past four seasons on staff, stepping in as interim head coach during the 2021 season, where he led the Trojans to a 3-7 mark over ten games.

In addition to defensive backs coach, Williams has held the defensive pass game coordinator title the past few seasons as well.

He fills the position on the Georgia defensive staff that came available following the departure of Fran Brown to become the head coach at Syracuse.
