Former Marshall offensive coordinator Clint Trickett is set to join Clay Helton's Georgia Southern staff as inside receivers and tight ends coach, according to a report Thursday from 247Sports.
Trickett spent the past two seasons running the Thundering Herd's offense, and the season before that as Marshall's wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator.
The son of longtime FBS offensive line coach Rick Trickett, Clint Trickett played quarterback at Florida State and West Virginia from 2010-14 and started coaching thereafter. His first job came as East Mississippi Community College's quarterbacks coach from 2015-16.
He then spent 2017-20 in a variety of roles at Florida Atlantic.
Trickett's hiring completes Clay Helton's staff after offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Bryan Ellis took the tight ends job on Kalen DeBoer's new Alabama staff. Inside receivers/tight ends coach Ryan Aplin promoted to Ellis's spot, and Trickett will now fill the role Aplin held.
