Giants athletic trainer credited with saving life of player's wife

Following the Giants loss Monday night, Logan Ryan was in the training room receiving treatment when his wife texted him. For the second night in a row Ashley Ryan had been experiencing significant chest and stomach pain.

Logan told one of the Giants' athletic trainers, Justin Maher about Ashley's pain and Maher advised that Ashley should go to the emergency room immediately.

Ashley heeded the advice and went to the hospital in Florida where she was visiting her sister. Ashley then found that not only was she pregnant but that her symptoms were related to complications with the pregnancy. A situation that could've easily killed her. She underwent emergency surgery and has now started the recovery process.

In speaking to media on Wednesday Logan said, “There are really good trainers here. There are really good people behind the scenes working hard for us to get wins, and I’ll do everything I can to play for a coach like that and play for an organization like this, because if that wasn’t the case, I don’t know if my wife would be here today. And, honestly, I’m extremely grateful for this organization and for Joe and for everyone to understand things bigger than football, especially this year.”

Very happy to hear that Ashley is safe and a huge thank you to all the athletic trainers that keep coaches, players, and families healthy.
