Each week, every head coach in the American, Conference USA, MAC, Mountain West and Sun Belt has the opportunity to vote his belief on the best teams among the Group of 5.
Boise State, Army, Tulane and UNLV held their positions atop the Group of 5 Coaches Poll this week. Boise State easily dispatched San Diego State on Friday night, jetting out to a 28-0 lead before cruising toward a 56-24 final. Playing without quarterback Bryson Daily, Army grinded to a workman-like 20-3 win over Air Force. Daily's injury has not been disclosed but Jeff Monken noted the team is hopeful he will be able to play this week at North Texas. The Green Wave continue to roll, notching a 34-3 victory at Charlotte.
The College Football Playoff selection committee will announce their first set of rankings Tuesday night. Boise State and Army are expected to be the highest ranked programs from the Group of 5 conferences.
During the season, coaches voting will remain anonymous.
