Head coach takes over a 0-10 high school program and leads them to undefeated season in year one (high school)

In years past, Wildwood HS (FL) had been widely considered as an area powerhouse, but after falling on some tough times the school decided to shut the program down after a winless season in 2014. They took the 2015 season off before coming back as a JV program in 2016, where they again went winless.

Back in February earlier this year, the program made the decision to hire McKinley Rolle, who was the defensive coordinator at Umatilla HS (FL) last season. Prior to that, he served as the head coach at Lecanto HS, where he compiled a 10-21 record.

In Rolle's first season with the Wildwood, he has completely turned the program around back to their winning ways. Rolle took them from winless, and led them to an undefeated season, and a #2 seed with home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs just months after taking the job.

It's a remarkable turnaround that all athletic directors hope for when hiring a new head coach after a winless season, but in all reality something like this happens maybe once or twice nationally. Truly a remarkable story and turnaround.

After collecting their ninth win, coach Rolle had some fun celebrating on the field with his guys.
