For years–decades?–Iowa has gone with its trusty, old uniforms: black on top, gold on the bottom. The Hawkeyes in recent years have traded out their gold pants for black, to varying degrees of aesthetic success.

Given that, it’s only natural they’d trade in their black tops for gold.

On Oct. 12, the Hawkeyes will look as gold as the autumn wheat fields blanketing the Hawkeye State.

Seasoned uni-philes will note the tabs on each shoulder harken back to the ’90s Iowa kit.
