After a historic season at Iowa State, Matt Campbell is reportedly set to interview for at least one NFL job.
Brad Biggs of The Chicago Tribune shares that Campbell will interview for the Bears head coaching vacancy.
Campbell has put together a 99-66 record as a college head coach at Toledo and Iowa State, including a 64-51 mark in Ames.
This past fall he led the Cyclones to a top 20 ranking and appearance in the Big 12 title game, finishing the season 11-3.
Yesterday while talking to reporters, GM Ryan Poles noted that "there's going to be some names that you don't expect that are going to surprise you because we're digging deeper than we ever have before," and despite his unquestionable success as a program builder at the college level, Campbell would certainly fit that profile.
With that said, it isn't the first time that an NFL team has targeted Campbell, as the Lions expressed interest in him back before hiring Dan Campbell prior to the 2021 season.
The Bears are also expected to interview a number of NFL candidates for the opening, including Pete Carroll, Aaron Glenn, Ben Johnson, Mike Kafka, Drew Petzing and Mike Vrabel, according to various reports.
