A.J. Hawk was cut on Wednesday after nine seasons with the Green Bay Packers. It happens. If there are two types of coaches - coaches that have been fired and those that are about to be fired - the same holds true for NFL players.
Hawk devoted an episode of his HawkCast podcast (former guests include John Daly, Joe Buck and Bret Michaels) to a 30-minute conversation with his brother Ryan reflecting on his time with the club. Turns out Hawk, a former Buckeye, was actually informed of the decision while stuck at sea on Ohio State's charity cruise.
Think of this as a player taking out a one-page ad in the local paper for the new age. Very well done.
