Jim Harbaugh will reportedly serve a suspension to start 2023 season (Jim Harbaugh)

Jim Harbaugh, Michigan, and the NCAA are working toward a negotiated resolution stemming from alleged false statements he made to NCAA investigators during an investigation into Level II recruiting violations, Ross Dellenger is reporting.

Multiple outlets are now reporting the same.

The resolution, which is yet to be finalized, is expected to see the Wolverines head coach suspended for the first four games of the season.

In order to be finalized, the resolution needs to be approved by the NCAA Committee on infractions, which could take weeks.

The NCAA contends that Harbaugh was dishonest about recruiting violations in his first meeting with investigators, and Harbaugh has shared that he didn't recall the events in question and never purposely mislead investigators.

Lying to NCAA investigators is considered a Level II violation, which carries up to a six-game suspension and heavy recruiting restrictions.

Former Wolverines defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald, now the defensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens, is expected to receive a one-year show-cause penalty and two current Michigan assistants are also expected to be reprimanded in Sherrone Moore (OC) and Grant Newsome (TEs), the report adds.

The first four games of the Wolverines season all take place at The Big House against East Carolina, UNLV, Bowling Green as well as a Big Ten game against Rutgers.
