Going up against Georgia Tech's triple option in the ACC title game, Jimbo Fisher spent yesterday's presser talking about the importance of eye discipline this in the match up, and how "eyes are the greatest thing that any athlete has, bar none".
It might sound crazy, but hear him out because he's got a point - especially against triple option teams.
"Eyes are the greatest thing that any athlete has, bar none. Bar ability, size, speed, anything."
"Because I'll say 'shut 'em and let's see how good of a player you are. And if you're looking at the wrong thing, you might as well keep them shut."
It's tough to debate that logic.
"Keeping your eyes disciplined so that you can process and see, and then trigger that much quicker. The difference in that and getting that pitch is inches, so being able to react and close the gaps is going to be extremely critical that we're able to do that."
