Justin Fuente interviewed for the Baylor gig on Wednesday, and it is now Thursday.
The Virginia Tech head coach began the day by signaling a return to Blacksburg, tweeting an image of himself in a staff meeting in Hokie colors, accompanied by the text, “2020 – Let’s go!”
The news of Fuente even interviewing with Baylor surprised those within the industry since he was actively filling out openings on his Virginia Tech staff earlier this week, and it would be even more surprising to tweet this quasi-announcement, then turn around and leave for Baylor.

With Fuente apparently out of the mix, the Baylor search will roll onward.
Matt Rhule officially left for Carolina nine days ago and recruiting is set to re-open this coming weekend, so one would think Mack Rhoades would want to get a hire in place as soon as possible.
