With the NCAA's Transfer Portal Window open through Dec. 28, K.C. Keeler is reeling in his initial Temple staff as the Owls try to rebuild.
Sources tell FootballScoop that Keeler is adding Brian Smith as defensive coordinator and Brian Ginn as special teams coordinator, among additional moves.
A former Michigan assistant who had served as defensive coordinator of the Rice Owls for the past seven seasons, Smith worked previously in Philadelphia -- with the NFL's Eagles.
Ginn logged multiple seasons in the NFL as well, assisting for the Chicago Bears franchise where he eventually rose to the role of special teams coordinator. He previously had an extended collegiate run on staff at Delaware.
Like Smith, Cedric Calhoun also is coming from Rice, where he served as defensive line coach.
Keith Dudzinski is set to coach linebackers for the Owls while Henry Baker comes over from Marshall to coach the cornerbacks. Chris Raitano, previously with Monmouth, is going to coach outside linebackers, per sources.
Rivals.com also reported the news of Keeler's new defensive coordinator.
