Kent State hiring Eastern Kentucky's CJ Conrad, Pitt's Malcolm Robinson (sec)

CJ Conrad, a former All-SEC tight end at the University of Kentucky who advanced to the NFL, has now made another climb in his college coaching career.

After spending the past year as tight ends coach in Walt Wells' rejuvenated Eastern Kentucky program, Conrad is heading to FBS program Kent State.

Conrad will continue to coach tight ends for Kenni Burns.

Additionally, Burns also tabbed Malcom Robinson for a defensive assistant spot. Robinson will coach the rush ends in the Golden Flashes defense.

Robinson, who played at the University of Minnesota, was on the staff of Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi in 2023, serving as a defensive graduate assistant for the Panthers.

In a bit of a twist, Kent State opens its 2024 season Aug. 31 at ... the Pitt Panthers.
