Kirk Herbstreit has tested positive for COVID-19, he announced Tuesday night.
While he says he's feeling good, he will not be on-site for ESPN's broadcast of the College Football Playoff semifinals on Friday. He was to be in New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl between No. 2 Clemson and No. 3 Ohio State, but will instead call that game from his home in Nashville.
Herbstreit will also appear remotely on College GameDay on Friday morning. He'll be the second cast member to do so; Lee Corso has broadcast from home all season long due to the pandemic.
The Ohio State-Clemson game is a highly personal one for Herbstreit, pitting his alma mater against the school where his twin sons, Jake and Tyler, are freshman walk-ons.
This is not the first time this season a high-profile broadcaster has tested positive this season. Last month, Fox had to use a replacement crew for its Big Noon Kickoff show after Urban Meyer tested positive.
