Kliff Kingsbury to take Washington Commanders offensive coordinator job (Kliff Kingsbury)

After previously agreeing to, and then backing out of, a deal to become the Las Vegas Raiders offensive coordinator, former Texas Tech and Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury has now agreed to become the offensive coordinator of the Washington Commanders, according to multiple reports on Sunday night.

The club hired Dan Quinn as its head coach last week, and with Kingsbury on board as coordinator it appears we may know their new quarterback as well.

In dots so big a kindergartener could connect them, Washington owns the No. 2 pick in the upcoming draft. Kingsbury spent the past year working with Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams at USC, who happens to be the top prospect in the draft.

Kingsbury famously coached Heisman winner Johnny Manziel at Texas A&M, two-time NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes at Texas Tech, Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray with the Cardinals, and now could re-unite with Williams in our nation's capital, which also happens to be the quarterback's home town.

We said when Kingsbury apparently took the Las Vegas job that he had a type when it came to picking where he was going to work, but in eschewing Vegas for DC and the opportunity to work with another premier quarterback, we can now say he has even more of a type in selecting where he's going to work.

Either give Kliff the opportunity to coach a generational talent at QB, or he's not interested.

As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
