Video: Lane Kiffin and FAU are getting a new 121,000 square foot facility (Facility)

When Lane Kiffin took the FAU job back in December of 2016, he noted at his introductory presser that it was obvious to him that Florida Atlantic was a place that was dedicated to "winning, and doing it together."

"For us to see the impossible, we have to see the invisible," Kiffin went on to note.

That line from his presser opens up the video FAU shared touting what was then perhaps invisible - a new facility focused on "academic and athletic excellence" that includes a lot of shiny new selling points for Kiffin and his football staff.

In the one-minute clip showcasing the new digs, the new facility, which they broke ground on back in January of 2017, they show off a new weight room.

According to the release from DPR Construction:

The Schmidt Family Complex for Academic & Athletic Excellence at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) will be a state-of-the-art education and athletic facility which will include 121,000-sq.-ft. of new construction (offices, classrooms for the MBA Sport Management program, weight and training room, etc.), 20,000-sq.-ft. of locker room and support space to be renovated within the existing stadium, as well as construction of two new outdoor football practice fields. The stadium renovation component is currently scheduled to open in 2018.

The release poinnts out that the master plans also includes a future phase for an indoor facility as well.
