Oklahoma offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley has won the Broyles Award as the nation’s top assistant coach. The award was announced Tuesday at a ceremony in Little Rock, Ark.
Riley edged finalists Brent Venables (Clemson), Gene Chizik (North Carolina), Kendal Briles (Baylor) and Kirby Smart (Alabama) in the closest vote in the Broyles Award’s 20-year history.
The Broyles Award announces that this was the tightest vote in its 20-year history. One vote difference between 1st, 2nd. #Sooners
