Longtime Eureka College leader resigns (Kurt Barth)

Kurt Barth and Eureka (D-III - IL) football have been synonymous with each other for decades. It's impossible to bring up one without talking about the other.

A three-time All American for Eureka at wide receiver from 1995-97, Barth has spent the past 15 seasons leading the Devils program.

Barth has recently resigned from the head coaching role, as well as his role as an assistant director of athletics.

The decision comes after a 4-6 season this past fall.

After starting off hot on a four-game winning streak, the Devils dropped six straight including two games by one point each.

Barth spent the past 15 seasons leading the program, compiling a 70-77 record as the winningest coach in program history, and he led the team to appearances in the Division III playoffs in 2017 and 2018.

The school has announced a national search for his replacement is underway.
