Louisiana-Lafayette is so pleased with Billy Napier that the Cajuns extended him twice over the course of the same season.
After announcing a 1-year extension through 2023 in October, ULL on Thursday tacked another two years onto Napier's deal, keeping him under contract through 2025.
"We are very excited to announce this extension for Coach Napier," AD Bryan Maggard said. "He has led our football program to new heights, and we look forward to continued success under his leadership."
Financial terms were not disclosed. Napier earned $875,000 in 2019, the most in the Sun Belt.
"The vision and support from our University leadership has been tremendous," Napier said. "We are very thankful for the belief Dr. Savoie and Dr. Maggard have in what our staff is working hard to build. Our entire organization is very appreciative of the quality of life in Lafayette and Acadiana. This extension will help us continue working daily on our process and improving our team. The #cULture is real and grows stronger by the day. We look forward to the challenges ahead."
The 40-year-old led ULL to a school-record 10 wins in 2019 with a Sun Belt West division championship with a date in the LendingTree Bowl waiting on Monday. He went 7-7 with a division title in 2018, his first year on the job.
Napier was named the Sun Belt Coach of the Year in 2019.
