Louisiana Monroe zeroes in on top choice

Sources tell FootballScoop that Louisiana Monroe has Bryant Vincent lined up as their top choice for their head coaching opening.

No deal is in place, and final clearances still need happen, but Vincent is the leader, sources share.

Ross Dellenger first reported the interest in Vincent.

Vincent is the former offensive coordinator at UAB. He took over the program as interim head coach for the 2022 season following the June resignation of Bill Clark.

He led the Blazers to a 7-6 record and a win in the Bahamas Bowl with the interim title before the program brought in Trent Dilfer from the high school level to be their new head coach.

Vincent spent this past season as the offensive coordinator for Danny Gonzales at New Mexico.

A former high school coach in the south with a 49-16 record as a head coach, Vincent also has spent time as a coordinator at South Alabama in addition to his time at UAB as offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach.
