Ball State senior linebacker Payton Stonefield (a former walk-on for the program) serves as a unique role model in that he's both a college football player, and someone that has recently graduated from intense military training with the Marines and plans on a career in the armed forces.
In the clip from Ball State, Stonefield expands on what his unique experience taugh him, as both a person and a player, and gets into some of the leadership skills he learned as part of the whole experience. Stonefield calls the military training that he went through "the hardest thing he's ever done in his life."
So today, as we thank the veterans who have helped keep our country safe and mold it into the great nation it is today, enjoy this unique story from Ball State. It has a truly great message.
