Mike Locksley has engineered a bit of a revival in his second stint atop the Maryland football program.
Now, with recruiting the lifeblood of any collegiate program, Locksley is poised for a key new staff addition.
FootballScoop is told that Kelsea Winkle, who ascended to the role of director of recruiting 18 months ago at UNLV, is poised to become the director of on-campus recruiting at Maryland.
A Colorado State graduate who also has professional baseball experience, Winkle also has hefty Power 5 experience.
During her career advancement, Winkle served as director of on-campus recruiting at USC under former Trojans' coach Clay Helton.
Maryland last season won eight games -- the program's most since 2010 -- and has notched multiple upsets of nationally-ranked foes under Locksley.
The Terps are set to open their 2023 season with a trio of non-conference games -- home tilts against Towson, Charlotte and Virginia -- before wading into Big Ten Conference play in Week 4 at Michigan State.
