Matt Rhule has a great message aimed at recruits and those doing the recruiting (Baylor)

What Matt Rhule and his staff have done in their short time in Waco is nothing short of incredible. Their play on the field, recruiting and development of players, and ability to create a winning culture and change the perception surrounding Baylor football since arriving on campus just three years ago is remarkable.

Two years removed from a 1-11 season, Rhule has flipped the script and has the Bears sitting at 11-1 ready to take on Oklahoma in the Big 12 title game. In his presser leading up to that big show down, Rhule was asked about not being able to recruit this week due to preparing for the conference championship game.

Rhule's response was aimed at recruits, but includes insight for being an effective recruiter as well.

"We don't recruit like a lot of other people. I don't spend all night on the phone with recruits. I spend time with my players that are here."

"Sometimes, in recruiting, people want to go to a logo. Or sometimes they want to go to the coach who shows them 'the most love.'"

Rhule then goes on to share that his son is having a minor procedure done today, and his wife and him were trying to figure out what to do with their son in the weeks leading up to the decision to have the procedure.

"I didn't send him to the doctor that showed him the most love. I didn't send him to the doctor with the coolest looking hospital building. I sent him to the best. I sent him to the doctor that is the best."

"I think what recruits will find out about us is if you come here, you're going to get our best. We're going to develop you, and take care of you, and grow you and help you, and have your back when things go wrong. We are loyalty above everything else. So we may not be as flashy or swaggy as some of the other guys, but we are family over everything"

"When you realize that you have one shot at going to college, and picking the right college, and getting developed you better go to the place with the best credentials and can do it the best."
