Matt Rhule says Bill Belichick knows so much ball, it embarrassed him (Nebraska)

What NFL organizations lost in deciding not to hire Bill Belichick for one of the eight openings this hiring cycle was won by those in attendance at clinics at both Washington and Nebraska.

Belichick hit the speaker circuit at both of those programs recently, sharing knowledge with the coaches in attendance.

That part, the part where a decorated coach without a team speaking as a guest speaker at a clinic is par for the course this time of year.

It sounds like the real big winners were Matt Rhule and the Nebraska staff, because after Belichick spoke to the coaches in attendance for the clinic, he spent over four hours with the Huskers staff.

"He is so smart, and has seen so much, that he can make the complex so simple, that it humbles you and embarrasses you."

"I was embarrassed yesterday listening to him, and how smart he is, and how simple it was" Rhule shared.

Rhule said three and a half hours in he really had to use the restroom, so he offered Belichick a water or cup of coffee, or an opportunity to take a bathroom break, and Belichick simply responded (in what we can only assume to be his signature monotone) "I'm fine Matt."

After complimenting the veteran coach's ability to recall specific situations from over 15 years ago, Rhule added "The only reason we didn't get through more information is because he's slowing down to make sure that you understand what he is saying."

"He's talking about football in a way that is just...I mean...illuminates things and makes things so simple that you're just like 'Oh my goodness.'"
