No one turns into The Herd to see serious journalism, least of all from Michael Irvin. But that didn't stop The Playmaker from trying to offer some on his old teammate.
Cowherd and Irvin were talking about the possibility of Deion Sanders coaching the Dallas Cowboys next season if the team is able to secure the services of his son, Shedeur.
"I believe 100 percent, and I can tell you good sources have told me that," Irvin said.
Michael Irvin says Deion would accept the Cowboys job if they draft Shedeur Sanders.

A few things here.
1. Mike McCarthy most certainly will not be back this season. At 3-7 on the season, McCarthy is in the final year of his contract and the belief in Dallas is Jerry Jones will make McCarthy ride out this miserable season through the whistle, but that will be it.
2. At the same time, Jones also made Dak Prescott the highest-paid paid player in NFL history in September, a $231 million guaranteed deal with a no-trade clause. Given that, it's highly unlikely the Cowboys would be in the market for a quarterback.
That established, a few more realities of the laws of nature moving forward.
1. As it stands today, Shedeur Sanders appears to be the top quarterback in the draft. If the season ended today, the Cowboys would pick behind Jacksonville, Las Vegas, the New York Giants, Tennessee and Cleveland. Keeping Shedeur on the board that long may prove to be a problem.
2. The 2025 NFL Draft is in April. The Cowboys new coach will be hired in January.
I know, I know. These details aren't fun, and Deion in Dallas would be fun.
While Deion said last week he will use his influence to steer certain teams away from his son, he's also said on multiple occasions he has no desire to coach in the NFL, believing that his approach would not work with professionals. “I have a problem with men getting their checks and not doing their jobs," he said. "I would be too tough as a coach in the NFL because I still have those old-school attributes.”
Deion also reiterated this week that he and his son mutually agree their partnership will end after this season. "(Shedeur) don't want to see me no more, man," he told Fox.
Colorado is also in hot pursuit of 5-star quarterback Julien Lewis, who assuredly would not consider the Buffaloes if he hadn't received assurances Coach Prime would remain in Boulder.
Again, pointing out these realities isn't fun, and speculating about Coach Prime riding down from the mountains to rescue his former team is about as fun as it gets on mid-day TV.
