The bad news for Sherrone Moore is that his first loss, 31-12 to No. 2 Texas, showed how much rebuilding he has ahead of him to get Michigan back to where it left off in 2023.
The good news is that Michigan still wants him to be their head coach.
There was never any doubt about that second point but, still, it's better to have Wednesday's announcement than not, that Michigan has, at last, completed and signed its contract with its first-year head coach.

Michigan announced a 5-year, $6 million a year contract with Moore upon his promotion to head coach in late January, but didn't put pen to paper to actually complete the thing until now.
And now that it's done, Moore must turn to the more important matter of fixing an offense that, two games in, appears to not have a quarterback.
As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
