Michigan State to formally fire Mel Tucker for cause (Mel Tucker Allegations)

Michigan State has formally fired Mel Tucker for cause, the school announced Wednesday.

The report comes roughly a week after the school filed its notice of intent to fire Tucker for cause. That notice was required by his contract in order for the school to get out from under the roughly $75 million still owed to him. Tucker's camp filed a 25-page response to the notice on Tuesday.

Tucker intends to legally fight for as much of that $75 million owed to him.

Tucker has argued he did nothing wrong in his relationship with sexual assault activist Brenda Tracy, and that any actions with Tracy were outside the scope of his contract.

"I can only conclude that MSU does not care about my rights, the truth, or its future liability for policing its employees' private lives," Tucker said.
