Eight years playing for the Patriots (including winning the Super Bowl three times). Six years as a head coach in Tennessee. A year off (well, consulting for the Browns) to recharge.
All of this prepared Mike Vrabel for this.
Today, the Patriots have hired Mike Vrabel as their new head coach.
At 49 years old, Vrabel has the potential to be in this position a long, long time. Well respected among his peers, it will be fascinating to see who he chooses as his coordinators and key assistants over the coming days.
Wise move by the Patriots to move first so Vrabel can get to work building his staff.
What a time to be alive.
Mike Vrabel to Patriots fans when he was inducted into the organization’s Hall of Fame in 2023: “I’ve been a lot of places. This is a special place with great leadership, great fans, great direction, and great coaching. Enjoy it — it’s not like this everywhere.” pic.twitter.com/RwD4XClrXv
